Mother's Day and Dentistry
Despair hit as many dentists looked at their calendars and began to remember that they have to buy a gift for their mothers!! It is at this moment that the memory arises that in the office there are several patients who are mothers as well. What to do? how to make? where to do Can you still do something?
Since Mother's Day is next Sunday (May 10), today is still the day to do something if you haven't done it yet. I recommend reading the news to the end for those who still have questions about whether it is worth promoting commemorative dates like this. How to make? Well, we are here to give you some tips and try to help.
A major problem we face as healthcare professionals is the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is true madness. It is the secretary who arrives late (when not missing), is the prosthetic who does not deliver the promised piece, is the accountant who does not send the tax to pay, is the Dental Assistant (DA) or the Dental Hygiene Technician (DHT) ) who become ill; well, there are countless setbacks that must be faced and those who work in dentistry know this well. Then some colleagues ask me: How could I have remembered to do something for Mother's Day? Yes, it is difficult, but I will continue to insist on the same theme: MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL and add one more term PLANNING.
Take one day of the month to think long term. We dentists (and other liberal professionals) are immediate. Let's live one day at a time without worrying so much about planning. Planning is simple and should not be viewed as martyrdom.
Take the agenda and schedule dates that might be interesting to campaign for your office, your employees, and especially your patients. Go back to the schedule about 30 days and then start your planning (don't want to start a week before the special date). Thinking of commemorative dates, create a beautifully smiling mom or dad contest, the coolest colorful drawing on Children's Day, stimulate your patients, use creativity and get out of the ordinary. Ahhh but this is hard work!! Yes, for sure; but as a result, your dental office will be seen and recognized a nice, nice, friendly and most important place: REMEMBERED!!!! Don't just be the toothache healer or the prosthesis “maker” or implant “implanter”, whether human or sensitive. This is marketing, this is relationship, this is captivating and thus making your dental career thrive, far beyond the walls of your office, your neighborhood, and sometimes even your city.
Escape the sameness and at least send an email to your Mother patients by next Sunday (May 10). Surely, they will remember you and maybe do not anticipate that consultation so delayed due to the crisis that our country is going through. And already schedule for Father's Day that still gives time!!!
